The Long Island Council for the Social Studies is the voice of social studies on Long Island. As one of the largest and strongest social studies organizations in the United States, LICSS also speaks for its members at the State and even the national level.
Strength in Numbers
When you join the LICSS, you add your voice to that of our 1300 members. Through its newsletter, position papers, and active in person participation in social studies education on Long Island, in New York, and on the national scene, LICSS advocates for the classroom social studies teacher.

The LICSS website provides another means of keeping member up to date on actions and programs, and quickly gets registration forms into members hands.
